What do you want to be when you grow up?
For me, the answers were: doctor, veterinarian, and writer. The actuality was much different. My roles have been: teacher; homemaker and mother; realtor (briefly); owner and operator of three women’s retail stores (disastrous); and registered nurse, specializing in the operating room and in psychiatry. Now that I have retired from nursing, I have returned to one of my earliest ambitions-writing full time.
