I have lived with Jane, Janie, and Sweet Jane in my head for years. The novel, a journey of finding one’s place in the world, was released by Black Rose Writing on MArch 19, 2020.

We first meet six-year-old Janie, a precocious and lonely child, when she learns of her grandmother’s death. The year is 1957. The family lives in an isolated house between Odessa and Notrees, Texas. Janie’s family consists of: Daddy, who works in the oil fields; Mama, who drinks vodka for a living; and Tom, her older brother and a budding basketball star.

Grandma June’s funeral is seen through the eyes of Janie.
