I’ll Be Seeing You by Joanne Kukanza Easley is a hearty punch of literary drama, with Ruby Lauren Eaton’s story spanning decades, from the 1930s to the 1980s.

I’ll Be Seeing You is the perfect book for any reader looking for a dramatic main female character who remains a vulnerable young girl on the inside while her life comes apart at the seams across the years, finally settling into an existence that is patched together with threads of wisdom born of pain, sorrow, and love.

Readers will quickly fall in love with the charismatic Lauren, a compelling mix of innocence and pizzazz, who parties too much and falls too hard for the wrong men in the big city.

Can this imperfect individual find love and happiness after significant heartache? Joanne delivers a thought-provoking story of women and the challenges they faced then and even today. The saga reflects the times with compelling, diverse characters throughout the well-developed plotline featuring the inexperienced Lauren. If you enjoy family sagas, put this one must be on your read list for the holidays.

For all that this book covers forty-seven years of Lauren’s life, it was actually a quick read because it was so engaging. I found myself transported to the time periods and settings skillfully described in the story.

I found this story to be engaging, and I think I finished it faster than I expected since I couldn’t put it down.
